The possibility of Spotify rethinking the cost of Spotify HiFi is encouraging, but if it keeps dragging out the release like this, it may be too little too late whenever it does finally launch. With Apple and Amazon Music both offering lossless audio at no additional cost - not to mention spatial and 3D audio listening experiences - charing an extra $5 or $10/month for Spotify HiFi likely wouldn't sit well with most subscribers.

While there's no way to confirm the current pricing plans for Spotify HiFi, one has to assume it'll be different than whatever Spotify originally planned on.
